Lovely: A Bake Shop

Lovely: A Bake Shop
1130 N Milwaukee Ave., Chicago, IL‎
Neighborhood: Noble Square

Lovely Bakery.

Keeping in theme with our bakery post from last week, Rob and I decided to check out Lovely: A Bake Shop this weekend.  We were in the mood for lunch (they serve everything from sandwiches and soups to pastries and coffee), but unfortunately we arrived just as they had stopped serving lunch—the kitchen closes an hour before the shop closes.  Fortunately, pastries were still being served and we took full advantage, ordering a peanut butter fluff pie and two mini cupcakes (red velvet and chocolate), in addition to two hot chocolates.  The hot chocolate was just sweet enough and perfect on a windy afternoon.  Rob and I split the peanut butter fluff pie (which had a delicious flakey crust and a great peanut butter flavor) and saved the cupcakes for later.  They were just as good as the peanut butter pastry, if not better.  Lovely is true to its name and worth checking out if you have as big of a sweet tooth as we do.
